Mardie MacDonald Fund
- "Share my Wheels?" -
Abarim Publications presents a small group of organizations and people who deserve aid but have little or no means to get it. The sole proprietor of this website works and lives in the US for about 7 months per year, but spends the rest of the year in Poland.
After 45 years of communism, there's not much to go around in Poland. Some of us can only afford one meal a day, and turn the heating on only when the temperature drops below freezing.

Mardie MacDonalds Fund - "Share my Wheels?"
Mardie MacDonald is a character from the novel Cross On Me, who in turn is based on an actual person. When I lived in Gloucester, MA, studying Scriptures at Gordon Conwell, I went through times when I couldn't afford to eat. Mardie would ask me over and share her Meals on Wheels with me, saying, "Will you share my wheels?"
The Mardie MacDonald Fund is an initiative of Abarim Publications, and was erected solely to raise funds and disperse these over the following organizations. We've set a percentage and a monthly maximum per target but because of legal reasons we can not disclose actual amounts of money. These maxima are not related to gifts directly to the targets.
Mardie passed away in 2000, but I'm sure she would get a hardy chuckle out of all this.

Allow Oli to live
Oli is a lovely and intelligent little girl who lives down the street from Abarim Publications, and who often comes over to play with Micah, the Abarim Hound. Oli was born with Craniosynostosis with phenotic signs of Apert syndrom and has had 16 operations so far. One of those operations went wrong but in Poland there are no facilities to correct it. Oli's parents have found Dr. Scott Bartlett M.D. from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia willing and able to take care of Oli but no one here has the kind of money that this requires. Without it, however, Oli will die.

The Children's Hospital in Cracow
Even though the salaries are among Europe's lowest, the Children's Hospital in Cracow is continuously out of money and always on the brink of foreclosure. If that happens, thousands of Polish children will die every year in the most gruesome ways. As long as the Polish government doesn't finance this very important place, it depends on gifts from people like you.

The Tree of Life Evangelical Church of Zakopane, Poland
The Tree of Life church is the only evangelical church in a fifteen mile radius (and very few of us own a car), and one of two within seventy miles. Our congregation consists mainly of little old ladies and students (and one sailor). We fellowship in a room in an old wooden building, but every service we wonder if there will be a next. Rent day is nightmare day.

Help Sabina
Someone once said that the best thing that Poland has going for it is the stream of young people who go to the West, learn skills and bring them back. Sabina Godziek has a Master's Degree in Education but wants to serve the Body of Christ in Poland. We've sent her to the US for a year, but with money for only six months. We pray that she will be able to complete her apprenticeship.
