🔼The name Shion in the Bible
The name Shion (or Shihon as some translations have, and not to be confused with Sion or Zion) occurs only once in the Bible. It's the name of one of the settlements that marked the border of the territory of the tribe of Issachar (Joshua 19:19).

The name Shion probably comes from either of the roots שוא (shw'):
For a meaning of the name Shion, NOBSE Study Bible Name List reads Ruin and Jones' Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has Overturning (which is a rather flexible interpretation of the root). BDB Theological Dictionary appears not to list Shion at all.
