פגג

The root פגג (pgg) does not occur as verb in the Bible, but comparable words in cognate languages suggest it has to do with unripe fruits. Its only derivative, namely the feminine noun פגה (pagga), occurs only once in the Bible, namely in Song of Solomon 2:13, where its plural form denotes the products of the fig tree. The noun פגה (pagga) means not-yet-ripe fig.
