Besides the famous Obed, the grandfather of king David, the name Obed belongs to one of Judah's many descendants (1 Chr 2:37), one of David's mighty men (1 Chr 11:47), a Korahite gatekeeper (1 Chr 26:7) and the father of Azariah (2 Chr 23:1).
