Obed 
The name Obed occurs quite a few times in the Bible. The most famous Obed is the son of Ruth and Boaz of Bethlehem (Ruth 4:17). This Obed became the father of Jesse and the grandfather of king David (1 Chronicles 2:12).
Other Obeds are: one of Judah's many descendants (1 Chronicles 2:37), one of David's mighty men (1 Chronicles 11:47), a Korahite gatekeeper (1 Chronicles 26:7) and the father of Azariah (2 Chronicles 23:1).
