Serug Serug

Serug is the a son of Reu, son of Peleg the brother of Joktan. Reu is an ancestor of Abraham.

The name Serug comes from the verb sarag (sarag 2284) be intertwined (as used in Job 40:17 and Lam 1:14). The derivative sarig (sarig) means branch or twig (as used in Joel 1:17; Gen 40:10).
